Children's Ministry

Jesus had a special place in His heart for children (Mark 10:13-16) and so do we. Though we believe that the primary responsibility to raise children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord belongs to parents (Ephesians 6:1-2), our goal is to assist in that task by offering fun yet meaningful Sunday classes and other wholesome, spiritually-focused activities.

Kid's Worship: Sunday mornings @ 10am
PreK-5th Grade: Join us every Sunday morning (during the morning service) for a fun and age-appropriate class centered around the Word of God. Students should be checked in before service at the registration desk.

"For our elementary students I think about the verse Jeremiah 20:9:

'But if I say, “I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.”

Jeremiah was prophesying to people who were mocking him. He was being ridiculed and persecuted. He was questioning God as to why he was still prophesying to these people when they were not listening. Jeremiah even goes so far as saying he won’t speak of God anymore but realizes that it is more difficult for him to not talk about God then it is to talk about him.

So this is our goal for our Children's Ministry: that as they come up through the ministry, the Word of the Lord would be placed on their hearts so that no matter what this world throws at them, they would be able to speak the Word boldly and proudly; and that they would find it to be more difficult to be who God doesn’t want them to be than who He has called them to be."

At Calvary, we take our ministry to children seriously, screening our teachers through National Criminal Background Checks and monitoring classrooms regularly. Our goal is to ensure that children can learn about God's love and His will for their lives in an atmosphere that is both friendly and safe.
